What is TCI training like?
- Anyone who works in direct contact with individuals served should take the initial (4) day certification class. Following this, staff members should refresh at minimum every 6 months.
- There is a mix of role playing, group discussion, and practice of physical restraints.
- Certified staff should be proficient in performing restraints safely and competently, receive an 80% or higher on the written test, and be able to perform a Life Space Interview (LSI).
